FallenSwordIRC is the player run IRC network for FallenSword. Although we were originally set up for FallenSword, we now have guilds from other HCS games hanging out on the server and even from other websites. As an open and friendly IRC network we welcome all comers, however we do focus our development efforts on HCS games such as FallenSword and SigmaStorm2.
The original IRC was provided as a free service for players by HCS themselves, however they found that their time was better spent working on the games, which led to the obvious quandary, what to do with IRC? HCS took the unfortunate decision to close down their official chat servers. This is where we came in. A large group of players found the IRC chat network to be an invaluable resource and were quite upset about it being discontinued. Rather than go and whine on the forums we asked HCS if they would support a player run server, and thus FallenSwordIRC.com was born. within a few hours we had a temporary network up and running and over the next few days it evolved into a fully fledged IRC network.
Now we are a year down the line, and boy have things changed. We have evolved into a much larger network, we currently have 4 dedicated servers serving the IRC chat, our own separate development network, webserver and email network and a whole lot more. We are constantly developing services we believe players may enjoy or find useful in addition to the various HCS games and we are always on the lookout for new inspiration. We wholly welcome suggestions and comments from players and fans alike.
We have, and always will, present a friendly and welcoming environment for players of all levels, everyone from the level 800 expert through to the level 1 newbie. We encourage players to help each other, either through giving advice or even free buffs or items, and like to make sure players have a friendly and fun place to hang out while they wait for more stam. We hope that we will continue to be a welcome addition to the FallenSword fanbase.
