This is the MoTd that will appear on the server screen for those of you who cannot find it. This is also to lay down some ground rules of proper etiquette while in fallensword IRC’s main chat for those who do not clearly understand how to behave while interacting in chat.

If the MoTD does not make this clear enough allow us to make it even more clear for you below.
Basic courtesy is as follows.
-No harassment of any kind. (Flaming, threats, personal attacks)
-No harassment of staff members, if you have problems email support, or join #help.
-Do not ignore staff members requests or instruction. Failure to follow instructions will have consequences.
-Do not impersonate other fallensword players or HCS staff as well as IRC staff. (You will be permanently banned for HCS impersonation.
-No spamming chat repeatedly.
-No inappropriate links in main. (There is an adult room for that)
-No continuous begging for gold, fsp, items, op.
-No racial, religious, or lifestyle insults to others.
-If you meet someone you don’t like harassing you. Use /ignore <name>
-Do not abuse the word filter. Once or twice is fine, it’s there to catch slip ups, don’t make a sport of it.
-Remember, since the game is open to people under the age of 18 that the #fallensword room is meant to be a friendly place for those under the age of 18, for that reason we try to make it as minor friendly as possible, though we do have some fun out of hand chats. That being said, IF chat gets TOO out of hand then an op may ask that things be taken back a step. If this happens please regard the request so that everyone may feel welcome here. If you want to have adult conversations, no holds barred, join the #18+ room and have at it as long as you are over 18.
Remember that these guidelines are for the IRC’s main room. You can make your own rooms, register them for personal or guild use. Even for regular social use amongst friends and restrict it or not as you see fit. In other rooms you are free to follow those rules and as long as you don’t break server rules or impede in IRC’s functions, you will be just fine.
